Former president John Mahama has dedicated this year’s Fathers’ Day to the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, who was lynched at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central region.

The young Army Officer who served with the 5th Battalion of Infantry at Burma Camp, Accra but was on detachment duty in the Central Region was murdered three weeks ago by a mob who reportedly mistook him for an armed robber after a snail seller had raised a false alarm upon discovering a pistol on him.

He’s survived by a young wife and two kids.

On the special day set aside worldwide to acknowledge the hard work by fathers in taking good care of their families, ex president Mahama took to Twitter to honour the late Major Mahama and “all servicemen who’ve fallen in the line of duty and their children robbed of daddy’s joy.”
