Oswald Okaitei, 2016 Pan African Poet & Spoken word Artiste, known for blending folk music and poetry lines to paint beautiful imagery in the eyes of the mind, is set to put up a Spoken word performance in Kampala, Uganda, during the 3rd Babishai Poetry Festival. Oswald who has performed with the Ghana Dance Ensemble, Bukom Dance Ensemble and the Shidaa Cultural Troupe, this time, is scheduled to perform with a Ugandan based Folk music band in a piece he titles ‘Twisted Fate’ (A Journey To Ourselves).

Twisted Fate’, designed to present an explicit theatrical feeling to audience drawn from East Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa and other parts of the world, is a fusion of several poems (by different poets— Prof. Atukwei Okai, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Prof. Chinu Achebe, Prof. Lade Wosornu, Prof. Kofi Awoonor, Dr. Mawuli Adjei, L. Senghor, Oswald Mtsali among others), music & dance in an hour long act to inspire a journey to Africa’s self-rediscovery. It is set to be on 5th August, 2017 at the Maisha Garden in Buziga, Uganda.

Oswald has translated poems of Professors Lade Wosornu, Kofi Awoonor, Kofi Anyidoho and Dr. Mawuli Adjei into dramatic performances, performed on several national & international platforms with Spoken word icons as Muta Baruka, Rocky Dawuni, Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, Prof. Atukwei Okai among others. He is a World Poetry Director from Ghana, a multi-international award winning poet/spoken word artiste at a very tender age  and one of the fresh breaths to poetry/spoken word in Ghana, Africa and the world at large.

Oswald is the featured poet in the political documentary, VOICES OF POLITICAL CAMPAIGN IN GHANA, produced by IMANI GHANA and has won awards as World Poetry Empowered Poet 2013, World Poetry Theatre Ambassador award 14, Pentasi B. Inspirational Poet 2016, Global Baobab Award 2016 and Pan Africa Poet & Spoken word Artiste 2016.
