Quiz Mistress of the National Science and Maths Quiz, Dr Elsie Effah Kaufmann has said she’s yet to find her stolen bag eventhough her empty wallet and her ID cards which were in the bag have been found.
The items were dropped by an unknown person at the University of Ghana, Legon.
According her, she’s currently unable to read becuase her reading spectacles which was in the bag is yet to be returned to her, adding that the question papers used on the final day of the quiz is also contained in the stolen bag.
Dr Elsie Effah Kaufmann ‘s handbag mysteriously disappeared on Thursday June 29, 2017 soon after the 2017 grand finale of the NMSQ among Prempeh College, Adisadel College and St. Thomas Aquinas at the National Theatre in Accra.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kasapa News, Sunday Dr Kaufmann disclosed that she’s had her stolen phone replaced by the organizers of the Quiz, Prime Time Limited, adding that she’s hopeful that the organizers will suport her financially if the stolen money is not returned.
She urged Ghanaians to take their security seriously as she remains shocked over the theft incident.
“I’ve now realized that a lot of bad people are all over the place, the reason why we should all take our security seriously. We should not be lax in our securuty where ever we find ourselves. Indeed I leaset expected that someone will steal from me as it happened during such an event.”
Meanwhile, the Minister of State in-charge of Tertiary Education, Prof Kwesi Yankah has announced the bounty on the missing bag during the 10th Congregation of the St Francis College of Education in Hohoe.
“Good education, indeed academic brilliance is meaningless if it is not founded on good discipline and sound moral integrity. Whoever stole the handbag, with all its precious content should be ashamed; he may have enjoyed himself/herself with its cash content but only temporarily.
“He has devalued and disgraced his school, his college and undermined the dignity of education in senior high school.
“And I use this medium to urge any student or anybody who knows the whereabouts of the missing handbag, to please report this to the Ministry of Education for a handsome reward,” Prof. Yankah said.
