GCB Bank has donated GH¢100,000 to victims of the Sierra Leonean mudslide disaster.

The donation was in response to the distress call by the people of Sierra Leone following the unfortunate incident which occurred on August 14, 2017 claiming over 400 lives.

Presenting the cheque to representatives of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre/Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, theManaging Director of thebank, Mr. Anselm Ray Sowahsaid the donation is in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Mr. Sowah further indicated that Ghana and Sierra Leone share some similarities in their development and history and it is therefore important to identify with a sister country in distress.

Receiving the cheque, the Director, Management Information System, Monitoring and Tracking Mr. David Laryea, and Mr. Edward Ashong, Director, Investor Services both of the GIPC, assured the bank that the funds would be put to the expected use and expressed gratitude for the bank’s timely response.
