The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has asked a claimant to the Ga-stool Nii Adama Lastse II to cease holding himself as member of the Greater Accra regional House of Chiefs.

This same directive also affects another claimant, Nii Ayi Bonte who are both contending for the Ga-Stool.

According to the Ministry, the two were inducted into the Regional House of Chiefs under unclear circumstances, hence the decision to nullify their membership.

This is amidst a number of clashes that erupted within Ga-Mashie between four claimants from different faction fighting for the same Ga-Stool.

In a letter to the Regional House of Chiefs and sighted by Kasapafmonline.com, the Minister of Chieftaincy and Regional Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi asked the two claimants, Nii Adama Latse II and Nii Ayi Bonte to stop parading themselves as members of the Regional House of Chiefs.

“The two should not attend upon the House, participate in any matters of the House, and no benefits and privileges or all other incidentals should be extended to the two referred above.”

The letter also noted the Ministry believes it is not appropriate to give credence and legitimacy to the status of the two “until all issues subsisting and pertaining to the two brought and pursued by other parties are resolved.”
