The Criminal Investigations Department (Headquatters) of the Ghana Police Service has constituted a special investigations team to track and arrest at least five young men who have been captured in a video recording gang raping a young girl.

The team of investigators have been tasked to analyze the video with the aim of identifying those involved and get them arrested for the necessary legal processes to be activated.

A video circulating which has gone viral which captures five  boys gang raping a young girl has left a section of the public horrified and sparked anger.

The five minutes video which shows the disgusting act by the young boys has received round condemnation among Ghanaians on social media, with calls on the security agency to arrest the suspects whose faces are clearly seen in the viral video.

Even though the victim tried resisting her attackers, the boys overpowered her and satisfied their lust, having sex with her in turns.

The girl finally found a savior in a man whose face was not shown in the video after he burst into the room where the act was taking place and forced the guys to set the girl free and vacate the room.

A statement signed by Director of the Public Affairs Unit of the CID, ASP Olivia Turkson “appealed to all media houses and those in possession of the video to stop circulating it since it is an offence to circulate such obscene materials.”

It further urged anybody with any relevant information to personally report to the Cyber Crime Unit of the CID Headquarters for further action.
