A four year old girl has gone through excruciating pain after she was chewed into a state of coma by marauding pigs at Weija, Ayigbe Town in Accra.

The sad incident happened on Wednesday afternoon while the little girl had been sent by her mother on an errand.

Mother of the victim, Madam Akua Serwaa told Journalist Benjamin Amuzu who visited the incident scene that she sent the little girl to buy something from a nearby shop, but few minutes later she had the shock of her life to have seen her daughter in a pool of blood after being chewed by three pigs.

“I was home waiting for my little girl to return home, but suddenly I heard shouts of distress calls, while other residents called my name. I rushed with my heart beating uncontrollably to see my daughter wounded after pigs had chewed her.”

The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to St Barnabas hospital for treatment.

Residents of Weija Ayigbe Town have complained bitterly over the activities of pigs who roam about in the area uncontrolled with some even entering homes and attacking people.

Meanwhile, the Assembly member for New Weija electoral area, Hon. Oduro Ampaw has urged the residents to kill any pig that they come across in the community.
