The Ministry of Youth and Sports has gone wild on Ashanti Regional Sports Director, Joshua Mensah over an initiative he used his own powers to take which has caused an eyebrow in the region.

Mr Mensah earlier stated that the Ashanti Regional Sports Directorate has banned the playing of matches on Saturdays to make way for the facility to be used for Social activities to at least raise money to maintain the stadium.

In reaction to the issue, the National Sports Authority Boss Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah disregarded the decision edge by Joshua Mensah stating that.

“There is no official confirmation that we have banned playing of football matches on Saturdays at the Baba Yara Stadium,
“I remember the Ashanti Regional Director had a conversation with me about the idea but I never shared the same sentiment with him.
“In fact Adam, this is not a directive from the National Sports Authority and to me this initiative by Joshua Mensah must be overlooked.” he told Adam Adjei on Dwidwamu Sports on Agoo TV.

Meanwhile, a new dimension exclusively to Kasapa Sports on the said issue which seems to be a looming fire ahead of Joshua Mensah is that the Youth and Sports Ministry have officially invited Joshua Mensah to Accra to help them with an investigation as to why he took such decision without their consent.

According to NSA Boss Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah the Ministry of Youth Sports has officially invited Joshua Mensah to Accra.

“Yes it is true that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has officially invited Joshua Mensah to Accra to help us with an investigation, we all aware that the NSA has administrative directives and procedures which we all refer to but I am very surprised Joshua Mensah used his own description to take such decision. Currently, the Youth and Sports Minister (Isaac Kwame Asiamah) is not in the country but his Deputy Pius Enam Hadzide has ordered Joshua Mensah to report to our office in Accra as soon as possible to help us in an investigations regarding the issue to bring sanity”, Robert Sarfo Mensah told Alexander Anyankwaa on Sports Update on Diwulanemu.
