About 300 security personnel drawn from the law enforcement agencies have been put together for the “Operation Calm Lives” initiative in the Northern region.

The move is intended to clamp down on the spate of criminal activities within the enclave.

Ahead of the official launch of the Operation Calm Lives at the Tamale Jubilee Park, government earlier released 11 new Mitsubishi Pick ups for the operation.

Today’s official launch, is expected to augment the Patrol sub-security operatives in the wake of the growing insecurity in the region.

The task force led by the Chairman of the Regional Security Council, Salifu Saeed, stormed the streets of Tamale and its environs to alert the locals of the REGSEC’s preparedness to deal with miscreants who’ll engage in criminal activities in the area.

The Regional Minister inaugurated the Operation “ Calm Lives, Suhudoo” task force on Monday and declared zero tolerance for indiscipline.

“We are here today to declare that the days of fear are over, and that our security agencies are coming out to deal effectively with the perpetrators of this condemnable act. The strong and smart turn out, we are witnessing now should send the strongest indication to those nation wreckers that their days are numbered,” he said.
