A group calling itself the Concerned Youth Association of Binguri in the Binduri district of the Upper East region has threatened to resist any attempt by government to relocate the assembly office structure in the area to Binduri.

The aggrieved youth of the community have questioned the motive behind the NPP government’s decision to site a new office for the district.

The group has thus warned of chaos should government abandoned the new office block in the area and move the administrative set up to Binduri when there is an already existing one in Binguri.

According to the group, the Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari on February, 01, called on the Binduri Chief to announce the construction of a new Assembly block for Binduri district at Binduri-Natinga.

Addressing a Press Conference at Binguri, Spokesperson of the group, Daniel Anoyah accused the Regional Minster and some leading members of the NPP of brewing tension in the area by this action after the construction of principal and permanent office of the Assembly as clearly provided for in legislative instrument (LI) 2146.

“Regarding the attempts and schemes by some leading members of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to relocate the Binduri Office block elsewhere either than its current location Binguri.  They are threading dangerously on warpaths. We therefore seize this opportunity to advise government to stay off any actions that will drawback the development of the Binduri district. If this evil agenda of disturbing the peace of the district is not stopped immediately, the government will have itself to be blamed.” the group fumed.
