The Head of Communications for the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), James Lartey says the Authority can effectively rid the consumption danger in society through a shared responsibility with the public.
Speaking at a day’s seminar organised for the media and the public in Sunyani to seek support to enhance the work of the Authority, Lartey observed that such a collaboration would allow for swift action to be taken, to save the lives of the populace from consuming unwholesome products, which could have negative effects on their health and lower productivity.
He says eventhough his outfit is mandated to regulate the production and consumption of food and drugs in the country, there is the need for the public to be sensitized to get them on board to fight the consumption menace.
Mr Lartey urged members of the public to notify the FDA of any discrepancies and illegalities in the food and drug business anytime they chance upon them.
According to him, this will seek to enhance the effective and efficient delivery of the mandate of the FDA.
