Staff of the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital is still pushing for the outright removal of the Medical Director, Dr. Eugene Dordoye, despite the Health Ministry’s interventions.
Earlier the nurses and Physician Assistants withdrew their services in protest of Dr. Dordoye’s continuous stay in office after accusing him of mal-administration.
The Health Ministry after numerous calls for the embattled medical Director’s exit, yielded to the pressure and asked him to temporarily step aside, while arrangement is being made for him to undertake 5-month refresher course to boost his human relationship.
But the workers still contend that the move by the sector ministry won’t suffice their problems being faced at the facility.
“You see the PRO came out that he’s been sacked, he’s been fired. We just even saw on 3 News that the Doctor is saying he had an appointment letter when he was engaged. And he’s not received anything yet, so meaning he’s still at post. but to the general public they’re making it seem as if he’s been fired. This man is somebody who’s vindictive and we all know, like the wounded lion, when he comes back what will happen here will not be favourable,” the Spokesperson for the group, Emmanuel Ofori told Accra-based Citi FM.
