Former producer of Ghanaian music duo, Buk Bak, has urged musicians to utilize the silent and night DJs to make their songs hit.

Nana Akwasi Ansah Mensah otherwise known as AgieCoat for his over twenty years experience in the music industry as manager of popular artistes like Kokoveli, K K Fosu, Kontihene, Kwaw Kese and others, believes that using DJs who are not presenters to promote unpopular songs are the best.

AgieCoat revealed that he advised Kwaw Kese not to use the popular DJs known for presenting as well and the result was awesome.

“I’ll advise artistes not to use known DJs or presenters… the best DJs to make your songs hit are those who play at midnight and the silent ones.” He told Kojo Preko Dankwa.

He is known to be responsible for hit songs like ‘Zaaza’ by Kokoveli, ‘Gonja Barracks’ by Bukbak and other known hits.

Speaking as a guest with Kojo Preko Dankwa on K-Entertainment, the popular producer disclosed that he getting into music has never been a worry to him but he is disappointed he was unable to recoup what he invested in the music.

According to him, his colleagues like Goodies, Big Ben, Bandex and others never made money from the money they invested in their artistes.

Admitting that they (Producers) invested in music for the pleasure of it without looking at the business aspect because they had enough to spend on music and personal stuffs.

AggieCoat further added that in the past, producers made money from the sales of cassettes and compact discs unlike presently artistes and their producers get huge return from many outlets.
