The fifty suspects who were arrested in connection with the recent clash at Ahwiaa in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region have been granted a GH¢ 10,000 bail with two sureties each by Kumasi High Court 4 presided over by Mr. Ekow John Mensah.

The suspects who are standing trial for conspiracy to commit crime and to with rioting with weapons pleaded not guilty to each of the charges.

The Police Prosecutor ACP Okyere Darko told court to adjourn the case saying the police witnesses could not make it to court.

Lead Council for the accused persons Lawyer Solomon Oppong Twumasi told the court to grant the accused persons bail due to peace that has prevailed in the community.

According to him lawyers for the accused persons and Zongo Minister have taken steps to ensure peace in the Ahwiaa Community.

The Judge, Ekow John Mensah granted the suspects bail and they are to report themselves at the Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office every morning till further notice.

They are to reappear on Wednesday April 18, 2018.
