Usain Bolt made it a treble gold across five major championships Saturday when he led a solid Jamaican 4×100 Relay team to outrun the United States.

At some few minutes past 9pm local time Beijng, the Jamaicans stepped up to do just one thing – make nonsense of an American quartet that failed to glitter when it mattered.

Tapping into a seamless synergy and capitalizing on a Mike Rodgers change-of-baton error, Bolt drove his colleagues home to loud cheers from the Stadium crowd.

Saturday’s showdown was a statement of superiority than it was of an athletic exercise. Jamaica showed class, and Bolt, yet the world’s fastest human, led that onslaught.

The win was Bolt’s third gold medal of the world championships after the 100 and 200 meter finals, which saw him beat Justin Gatlin in both sprints. He has successfully defended all three world titles he won in Moscow in 2013.
