Popular Television station Metro TV has been shut down by the Ghana Revenue Authority over non-payment of taxes, Kasapafmonline.com can confirm.
Information available to Kasapafmonline.com indicates that the station was shut down Wednesday for owing the authority up to 2 million Ghana cedis.
The station is currently off air and it is not clear when the station will begin operations again.
This is not the first time the TV station has been closed down over indebtedness. Officials shut down the TV station last year December for similar offense.
The GRA has recently embarked on an exercise to shut down companies and institutions who have not settled their tax obligations.
