The much talked about power barges promised by the Government of Ghana to aid electricity supply across the country, may delay if some 100 million dollars owed the suppliers is not paid.

The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) is claiming the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has not fulfilled the financial obligation to KAR-POWER, the Turkish company working on the barges.

With an expected arrival date set for this month, it is turning out Ghanaians may have to wait some few more weeks before the barges are delivered.

Government is yet to respond to the claims by ACEP.
