Over forty Ghanaian registered Oil and Gas companies with the Petroleum Commission have been schooled and exposed to the latest technologies in the on going Oil and Gas trade mission in Scotland, Aberdeen.
Speaking to the Media, Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Egbert Faibile Jnr said the indigenous companies are being exposed to these opportunities to make them more competitive, effective and efficient.
Mr Faibile Jnr added that the latest technology will also protect their equipment, safe guard the environment and protect the lives of people who live in and around their areas of operation.
The Europe and Africa Regional Manager for OSE global asset integrity management solutions and services, George Byers said it is important to introduce these technologies to Ghanaian companies due to the numerous opportunities available to International Oil Companies (IOCs).
Mr Byers said the latest technology further reduces risk and maximises their returns on investment.
The maiden trade mission which has been put together by Ghana’s Upstream regulator (Petroleum Commission) , UK -Ghana Chamber of Commerce and the Scottish Development International is aimed at positioning Ghanaian Oil &Gas companies for better opportunities in the upstream sector.
The Commission has grouped the participating Ghanaian companies into three, to embark on a one-on-one networking directly with the International Oil Companies.
Some of the Companies visited included JBS, People Factor Consultant, Technano amongst others.
Ghana ‘s Deputy Minister of Energy responsible for Petroleum, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam is leading the Trade Mission , supported by other senior government officials.
