A security analyst Irbard Ibrahim says the supposed policeman seen heavily drunk in a commercial vehicle popularly known as Trotro on Tuesday morning might have taken up such habit due to the poor conditions of service in public institutions.

According to him, there is no better scheme within the public sector that enhances the quality lives of  civil servants leading to certain unprofessional habits of some public servants in the country.

His comments come after a video of a heavily drunk Police officer with a rifle in his possession in a commercial vehicle popped up on Facebook.

The Police officer whose name is not known boarded the vehicle from Ridge roundabout to Madina. The officer, according to reports is stationed with the Madina Police station  of the Ghana Police Service.

The drunken officer who could not sit still in the “trotro” and was continuously bragging about his drinking habits put passengers on board the vehicle at risk as he struggled to control himself.

The officer was heard in a loud voice saying in twi that, “me ne obiaa nni asem”, to wit, ‘I have no problem with anyone’. This was after the conductor or driver’s assistant (mate) asked him to pay his fare.

Irbard Ibrahim told Agoo FM’s Abena Opokua Ahwenie on evening news analysis program “Na Wo Kaa No Sen” that, Ghanaians should not be quick in judging people but rather analyse the circumstances surrounding such disturbing issues before criticizing.

He also condemned the habit of people so quick to videotape incidents and posting them on social media.
