President John Mahama has picked his nomination forms in readiness for a re-election in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) upcoming Presidential primary on November 7.
Vice President Kwasi Amissah-Arthur picked the forms on behalf of the President who was attending to other pressing issues.
The brief event saw hundreds of party supporters mainly from the Zongo communities clad in party colours thronging the party’s National Headquaters at Adabraka to demonstrate their support for the President.
The forms were presented to Vice President Amissah Arthur by the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
As it appears now, President John Mahama may be challenged by George Boateng, an organizer at the Oyarifa branch of the NDC who took his nomination forms on Tuesday.
The President’s contender’s acquisition of the nomination forms has become a subject of controversy, as the party claims the process by which the aspirant secured the forms was not right.
Two administrative officials at the headquarters are being questioned for issuing out the forms when they knew they had no mandate to do so.
