A Political Scientist lecturing at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, says he has changed his mindset about George Boateng Arthur who is seeking to contest President John Mahama in the upcoming presidential primaries.

According to him, he initially thought the Youth Organiser of the NDC at Oyarifa Ward Branch was just making noise when he declared his intentions to run, but after reviewing his comments on various media platforms, he now sees him as one who meant business.

He told Kwaku Owusu Agyei in an interview on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.3 FM Thursday that although George Boateng Arthur’s vision about legalizing marijuana was not well espoused, he has demonstrated that he is focused towards achieving his dream.

“The NDC had wanted President Mahama to go unopposed but that didn’t happen. When it started, I thought the man (George Boateng) seeking to contest Presidnet Mahama was not a serious person but his comments have made me change my mind.”

“What he said which has overshadow all the good things he has said is about legalizing marijuana. At first I thought he was not serious but his banter with Asiedu Nketiah means he is serious and not just talking,” he noted.

The NDC goes to the polls on November 7, 2015 to elect its candidates for the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
