President Akufo-Addo is likely to name a Female Supreme court Judge to succeed the dismissed EC Chairperson, Charlotte Osei, Kasapafmonline.com sources say.

Although the pendulun swings on the supposed female candidate from the Bench and one other unnamed person, reports suggest the SC Judge seems to be the favourite ahead of the announcement.

The move comes after a thorough consultation and deliberations by President Akufo-Addo.

The Council of State has been presented with the name and profile of the judge and the other candidate as part of the procedure.

The President has the opportunity to nominate four commissioners including the chair since two were removed with Mrs. Osei while one other is on retirement.

The President has insisted he will not pick an individual with a political bias to serve at the Election Management Body(EMB).

“We are not looking for persons who are coming to do a job for the NDC or for the NPP. We are looking for persons who are coming to do a job for Ghana. That is what we are looking for, for the Electoral Commission”.
