Police at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region have arrested a man who shot four teenagers who went in search of snails after he mistook them for thieves.
Two of the victims who received multiple gun shot wounds have been treated and discharged by authorities at the Anglogold Ashanti Hospital.
The children who are aged thirteen and sixteen respectively were seen by the suspect at a nearby bush and fired several shots at them around 2am, resulting in them sustaining wounds on the legs, buttocks and other parts of their bodies.
According to the kids, on their way back from their search for the snails, they tried going through a house thinking there was a thorough fare only for them to be shot at by the suspect who started shouting thieves.
One of the victims, Appiah Pinkrah told Newsmen that upon sensing danger they had to flee to save their lives.
Police investigations continues into the incident.
