The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has urged the public to disregard a video that claims Tomato Ketchup is produced using coagulated blood, pure cocaine, Urine and rubbing alcohol among other materials.
According to the FDA, the viral video is has since gone viral on social media is nothing but a clear falsehood and a misrepresentation of the production of ketchup.
The video which is suspected to be a documentary by a manufacturer of tomato ketchup, appears to have been reproduced with a male voice over in a rather disturbing manner depicting tomato ketchup as a dangerous food product.
A statement signed by Chief Executive Officer of the FDA, Delese A. A Darko said “It is worth noting that, production of Tomato ketchup includes raw materials such as Tomato Paste or Fresh Tomatoes, Modified Starch, Distilled Vinegar, Sugar and Spices.
“The FDA wishes to state emphatically that the ridiculous video is nothing but a clear falsehood and misrepresentation of the production of Tomato Ketchup. The video should therefore be disregarded.”
