Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has admonished the party’s members and sympathizers to immediately cease fire since the party stands to gain nothing from the internal wrangling that has hit the elephant family.

According to him, the continuous infighting in the party will only arm their political opponents, noting that it was about time they came together to annex power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“There is absolutely nothing to be gained from internal recriminations within the NPP except to provide fertile soil for our opponents”, he said at a news conference, Friday, when addressing party supporters on current happenings within the party.

According to the former Attorney General, all the lies and accusations among members in the party has the potential of derailing their efforts ahead of the 2016 elections.

Such acts, he noted must be condemned.

“They are to be roundly condemned. Having heard so many people, my first call on party members and supporters is to cease fire. The finger pointing, name calling, insults, lies, denigrating of past and current leaders must stop”.

He said the death of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Adams Mahama, should unite and inspire them to work harder for the party to win power in 2016 rather than to disintegrate it.
