Dancehall artiste Samini has said any notable Ghanaian record label signing artistes is primarily for ‘kids’ artistes.

In an interview with Kasapa Fm’s Kwame Bee on the ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ show, the ‘My Own’ crooner confidently stated that any music entity with interest of signing him on to its label should have the requisite value.

According to him, he has invested so much resources and individually worked on his music career so will not agree to a deal that won’t benefit his brand as an artiste.

Though Samini indirectly referred to Zylofon Music, the Highgrade Family Boss praised the label for their great strides in the industry, something he never experienced during his heydays as a musician.

“There are some record deals you can’t say no to because I’ve built my brand single-handedly to this level… I’ve invested so much in this brand personally so if someone wants to partner with me, that person should have everything that it takes. I also think that a new label is doing very well when it comes to managing artistes in Ghana and that is unprecedented when I started as a musician. But such record labels are meant for the young artistes.” Samini told Kwame Bee

So far Zylofon Music has signed 6 artistes namely Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Becca, Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar and Obibini.

The label dwells in the creative arts industry with emphasis on producing international standards work and also give local artists platforms to expound on their talents.
