President John Mahama has told a gathering of NDC loyalists that they won the 2012 General Elections as a result of hard work, and the grace of God.

Citing the nine-month election petition that challenged the 2012 results, he said the NDC worked for an ‘historic victory.’

“Our never failing God won for us in 2012 and he will in 2016,” he told a crowd of supporters Monday after submitting his forms to contest the presidential seat of the Party for the 2016 elections.

“Three years after our historic victory in 2016, the NDC still remains the strongest political group in this country.

“Together with one voice let us be clear that we will continue the agenda for transformation.

“I have a mission to build on the foundation laid by my predecessors, Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufour and John Evans Mills.

“Our record in office is impressive and all of us can be proud of it.”

Mahama personally filed his nominations after he had his forms endorsed by all the two hundred and seventy five (275) constituencies across the country.

Presenting his forms, he assured Party loyalists of his commitment to continue with the good works of his predecessors to ensure a resounding victory for the party in the upcoming 2016 elections.

” Our former leaders have done a lot for this party, Ex Presidents Rawlings and Atta Mills did a great job. I want to assure you that I will do everything possible to ensure that the party wins a one touch victory in 2016.

“I expect that all of us go into this battle in unity and Insha Allah we’ll emerge victorious.”
