Former President John Dramani Mahama has declared his intention to run as Flagbearer for the largest opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC).

The former Ghanaian leader made his intention clear when he presented his letter to the party hierarchy today at the party’s headquarters informing them of his decision.

Mr. Mahama is the seventh person to declare his candidature in the NDC top job.

“I have submitted my letter to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) confirming my decision to contest for the leadership of the party with a clear view on victory in 2020, with your support.” John Mahama posted on Facebook

He met with NDC Founder, Jerry John Rawlings yesterday in what has been described as his last leg of consultations before declaring his candidature Thursday.

In a video sighted by Kasapafmonline.com, the former President appealed to members of the National Democratic Congress to right the wrongs of the past and put an end to the cries of the people under the current dispensation.

Mr. Mahama has already tested the waters with the party’s unity walk that was spearheaded by Kojo Bonsu, a former Mayor of Kumasi, and grounds appear to be so fertile for his coming back.

He join the likes of the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, former CEO of NHIA, Sylvester Mensah, ”the poor boy from Binduri”, Stephen Atubiga, Prof. Joshua Alabi, Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Hon. Kweku Ricketts-Hagan and Elikplim Agbemava to contest the vacant flagbearer position of the party.

The NDC goes to the polls on December 7, 2018 to elect a flagbearer.
