Executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have cleared President John Dramani to begin his campaign as flagbearer for the party in upcoming 2016 general elections after submitting his nomination forms Monday.

The party executives, having acknowledged receipt of the nomination forms, took less than two minutes to inspect the document which had members from the 270 constituencies endorsing it.

The Director of Elections of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who personally went through the documents, cleared the President for satisfying the requirement needed to lead the party as its flagbearer for the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

“We have gone through the nomination forms that have been presented by His Excellency President Mhama which meets the requirement of the party guidelines and constitution. The forms have been endorsed by all the 275 constituencies in the country. I therefore wish to declare that again His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has assented to the forms, in other words, he has accepted the nomination that has been done, proposed and seconded and endorsed by the 275 constituencies and he has appended his signature signifying that he has accepted the nomination.”

“Therefore, I wish to declare that his Excellency President John Mahama has satisfied all the requirements that is required by the party and for that matter, we duly accept this nomination and after that the way will be cleared for him to begin his campaign,” Ofosu Ampofo declared to the numerous party followers that stormed the headquarters to render their support.

Moments after, the President took to the podium that had been prepared to taunt his two-and-half-years achievements to the applause of the party followers.

He then went ahead to declare a one-touch victory for the party come the 2016 general elections.
