Solomon Fixon-Owoo is an Actor, Filmmaker and Theatre Practitioner with over fifteen (15) years of experience in audio-visual storytelling and Theatre productions.
Having featured in Grace Omaboe’s ‘By The Fire Side’ in 1997, she encouraged him to join Hacky Films. At Hacky Films, he worked with Mr. Hackman as a Continuity person and was very instrumental in the setting up of Hacky Artistic Club that aimed at training talents.
He later joined Pacesetters, at the Arts center, a drama group founded by Zimram Clottey aka Aluta and also became a part of Kozi Kozi (founded by David Dontoh) where he developed his acting skills as a stage actor.
He became a member of Harrisco Drama group at the National Theatre as part of the Theatre For A Change program and performed at the Fun World and Kiddafest programs which were on the rise.
After an unsuccessful audition for the PUNCTURED HOPE movie project between Toronto Pictures of Canada and AA production of Ghana, he became a production assistant on the project and worked with the lighting department. After the project, he served as a lighting and camera assistant and even as a props coordinator for a number of local and international projects.
As a Filmmaker, he has actively assumed numerous roles as a Continuity person, Production Coordinator, Production Manager, Producer, Director and an Actor in films, commercials and documentaries.
From being a stage hand and prompter to being an actor, stage manager and director, Solomon has fit in various roles as a Theatre Practitioner.
In recent times, Solomon has worked on a variety of film projects including Kejetia and Makola; the movie and LUCKY.
‘LUCKY film details the events in the life of a university student called Lucky, who with the help of his friend Wadaada tries to sell a laptop so he could afford to go on date with the girl he meets online. The sale doesn’t go as planned and they are faced with long day with a series of tumultuous, unexpected incidents.
A simple story which the makers aptly describe as a “tragicom” (a blend of tragic and comic elements) that uses a voice over narration to introduce to us the main subject, Lucky Berima Mensah (played by Kumi Obuobisa) and continues to tell the story of his day goes as the other characters in the film are introduced and carefully placed to progress the story.
Solomon Fixon Owoo wows movie fans with an unforgettably outstanding performance in this film as Wadaada. He plays a very relatable character for almost any guy. He’s your plug for everything you would want to buy or sell, the ultimate streets savvy salesman. The kind of friend we all need who has your back yet is always on the move to make things happen. For us this feels like the film that is going to put Solomon Fixon Owoo under the spotlight worthy of a fine actor like himself.
His acting was superb and complimented a story that is relatable for almost any young adult on the back drop of how life on campus can get for some hustling students.
He has also worked on a large number of stage projects as well. Currently, he is playing a major role in the sensational and crowd moving The Corner TV Series showing on ZYLOFON TV.
Aside his predominant presence on stage and screen, he is the Executive Director of Heritage Of Africa (HOA), a group that promotes the Arts and creates platforms for young people to identify their talents. In view of this, Broadway Drama Festival; the biggest award-winning High School Drama Competition in Ghana; was birthed and is organized by them.
Solomon is a determined young man whose desire is to effect positive change through Film and Theatre. He is self-motivated, willing to learn, has a great sense of humour and compassionate towards people.
