A National Vice Chairperson of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anita De sosoo says she’s responsible for the peace currently being experienced in the party.

According to the firebrand politician, her decision to beg the enstranged founder of the NDC party, Ex President Rawlings for forgiveness has calmed tension between the latter and the party and fostered party cohesion.

Anita De Sosoo who’s contesting for the National Organizer position in the NDC’s upcoming National Executive elections, used the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the uprising of June 4 which was held at the Madina Social Welfare School Park, to kneel down and beg the founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings to forgive them (NDC party) of their sins.

“Now to my father – Founder, I know your children we have erred and I also know that you are a human being and you have also done something may be it is not right.

And I was so happy when I heard you say that when you brought a statement out, rendering an apology – you are a hero. You are a hero. This shows that what you have thought me is still within me. If you are a leader, be prepared to say that I am sorry. If you are a child, be prepared to say that daddy I’m sorry. So, I will take this opportunity on behalf of the party to kneel down before my dad – please forgive us. Let us come together to build this country”, an emotional De Sosoo pleaded with the former Ghanaian Head of State.

De Sosoo also used the opportunity to advice her party colleagues to show respect to Mr. Rawlings and recognize all his contributions to the party since he has suffered and sacrificed a lot for the party.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Eko sii sen show, Anita De sosoo stated that she does not regret rendering the apology even as the ex President slammed her for bleaching, because that singular act of begging has impacted positively on the NDC.

“After rendering an apology on behalf of the NDC to our party founder (ex President J. J Rawlings) don’t you realize that there’s peace in the NDC? Now, whoever wants to lead the NDC as a flagbearer has found it necessary to go and seek the blessings of our founder. If you sin against an elderly person and you ask for forgiveness, there should be no issues about that. I don’t regret apologizing to ex President Rawlings My heart is gladdened that I’ve been able to contribute to peace in the NDC. From June till now, there’s been absolute peace in the NDC and I don’t regret that I apologized to the founder. My actions by the grace of God have brought peace to the NDC and my heart is gladdened.”
