A Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has accused the Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Kweku Baako of being an essential part of the Judicial corruption that has been unearthed by ace Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
According to him, Kweku Baako during the NPP’s regime was neck deep in judicial corruption such that he was able to predict how judgment would go in high profile cases, ahead of final judgment being given.
Ghana’s Judiciary has come under a lot of condemnation by the public after an exposé by investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, established that 34 Judges have been involved in massive corruption, a development that has impacted negatively on the integrity of Judiciary.
Twenty-two Circuit Judges and Magistrates have already been suspended by the Judiciary Council following the exposé.
The Judicial Council has also instituted the necessary investigative processes to identify, for further disciplinary actions, other court officials who may have collaborated in these alleged acts of grave misconduct.
Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Koku Anyidoho stated that the NPP cannot not be excused from Judicial corruption since the party heavily influenced judgment, and its assign, Kweku Baako was no exception.
“I wonder how Kweku Baako could sit on TV and predict judgment. Between 2001 and 2008 during the NPP’s time he was able to predict judgment in the Quality Grain case, the Tsatsu Tsikata case and many others. This man was able to enter into the minds of Judges and he could say who will be left off the hook in a particular court case and truly it will come to pass.
To the extent that in Tsatsu’s case he could question the competence of Justice PVO Danquah, when he (Kweku Baako) had no legal training. I will not forget that morning watching him on TV. Based on the evidence out, it shows clearly that the NPP influenced judges”.
