The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Afeku with support from the World Bank is on a bench marking trip to South Africa and Mauritius.

The purpose of the visit is to seek for support to set up a state of the art Hospitality and Tourism Training School to serve the country, as well as neighbouring West African countries.

Some private sector industry operators will join the Minister to strong relations and explore other areas as well as explore other areas of co-operation to aid in the transformation of Ghana’s tourism and hospitality industry.

The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture in July, 2018 officially reopened the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Training Institute (HOTCATT) after a massive renovation.

She further highlighted challenges that some tourists have encountered due to poor service quality in the hospitality industry, underscoring the need for the transformed Hospitality industry to provide a massive turnaround to Ghana’s tourism and hospitality industry as the center which will give students the best of critical professionals, managerial and technical skills needed to provide good and quality service for all.
