Professor Joshua Alabi, a flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says he is unfazed by the seeming overwhelming support of former President Mahama, which he’s been enjoying in his campaign tours around the country.
Mr. Alabi remains resolute on his chances of winning the party’s flagbearership race, slated for December this year.
It would be recalled that some 94 NDC MPs endorsed the candidature of former president John Mahama at a time when the latter was yet to declare his intent to run for the presidency.
Although many political watchers and analysts have predicted an overwhelming victory for the candidature of John Mahama, Prof. Alabi believes his experience and outstanding performance in public office makes him the favorite among his contenders.
In an interview on Accra based 3Fm, he opined “I’m not scared, I went to the constituencies as well, I go down there and I sometimes ask them whether they are going by what their MPs are saying and they tell me NO!”.
Touting why he should be given the nod by delegates, he said “at any point in time when given assignment I do my best for the nation and that’s why the country honored me. So I’m very confident of myself that given the opportunity to run the affairs of this country Alabi will push this country to a different level”.
