Officials of the Ghana Post Company have fled Koforidua Asokore in the Eastern Region after what they said was near attack on their lives by angry residents when they reporredly asked each house to pay GHC50.00 for Digital address to enable them access government social interventions and take part in elections.

They allegedly warned the residents that failure to do so will make it impossible for all defaulters to access government’s interventions.

The announcement which did not go down well with the residents caused them to troop to the Chief’s palace to attack the officers.

Information gathered indicate that the Ghana Post Officials have parked out of the community.’

Meanwhile, the Asokore Traditional Council has scheduled a meeting with the residents and the Ghana Post officials to resolve that standoff.
