We operate in the areas of anti-human trafficking, anti-human smuggling, prevention of child abuse and child labour in Ghana, has called the government to consider reinforce the policy framework to guide migration to the Gulf cities.

According to the Executive Director of the NGO, the policy framework will help in reshaping the export of labour to the countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iran, United Arab Emirates(UAE), Kuwait among others.

Mr. Jones OwusuYeboah made the call speaking in an interview after the organization restructured the organization’s programmesand done with their researches for 2019
He stressed that the youth who engage in this migration and had to be evacuated from these Arab states because of the maltreated they suffer from their hostsleading to lossof their remittances.

According to him, the returnees haven’t over the years seen any plans from the government on employing them or providing opportunities for them leading to them risking to go back.

So if they compare here and there that some people called ‘’hell’’ they choose the ‘’hell’’ instead of home because is better making a living in the foreign land with disgrace than being killed by hunger in one’s own land.

He noted that when the returnees are bought back after their harrowing experiences in these cities, they come to the realization that their remittances have been squandered by family people whom they entrust their moneys to for safe keeping.

He minces no words to say remittance management of these returnee is a challenges and one of the issues that kept pushing them to go back.

‘’Because when you send money to families or friend to save for you by the time you return and it turns to be another story is worrying.

My suggestion that the government come out with some form of policy framework on the management of their remittances and migration to these countries.

Countries like Ethiopia have succeeded in putting policies to guide export of labour to these countries where the remittances of the migrant are safeguarded for the development of that country.

He explained that human migration is an age-old phenomenon that stretches back to the earliest periods of human existence.
