Paul Dogboe, father of young boxing champ, Isaac Dogboe says his son will bounce back stronger than before after losing his WBO world super bantamweight title to Mexican Emmanuel Navarette in the United State.
“My son, will bounce back stronger than before” he told Adam Adjei on Dwidwamu Sports on Kasapa Fm.
According to him, they never expected Navarette to last five rounds but were taken aback to see the Mexican boxer fight so fiercely.
“Isaac Dogboe went to the Olympics at the age of seventeen, when he came to Ghana, boxing was down the drain in Ghana. Isaac Dogboe revived boxing in Ghana”.
He added: “We didn’t know that Navarette will go five rounds, but these things happen. So we are going back to the drawing board and see where we fall short and then bounce back and is going to be bigger and better”.
Dogboe in his second title defence in this year, failed to produce the skill and dexterity that saw him beat the likes of Magdaleno and Juarez earlier this year.
Dogboe who until now had gone 20 fights without defeat lasted the entire 12 rounds but he struggled for the majority of the rounds.
Paul Dogboe is however confident his son is coming back to reclaim the title when he next face Naverette for a rematch.
