Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and former Attorney General, Mr. Joe Ghartey has called on the Judicial Service Council to be guided by the Constitution in the events leading to a possible release of a video that incriminates some 34 judges of receiving bribes.

According to Mr. Ghartey on the Ultimate Breakfast with Prince Minkah, due process must be followed in the whole brouhaha surrounding the matter.

Reports indicate that several individuals are calling for the video by ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas to be shielded, whiles others are pushing hard for it to be shown.

Effective today, Monday September 14, 2015, some 22 circuit judges indicted in the scandal are facing suspension.

The former Attorney General disagreed with persons and institutions who believe there is corruption in the judiciary, saying there “it rather affirms that the system works and when there is wrong doing, the system takes care of the wrong doing”.

He recounted a very bizarre incident where he ordered for the arrest of one Circuit Judge for compromising his position over a case he was handling.
