The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah has toured multipurpose sports complex being constructed by the government at Nyinahin in the Ashanti Region.
He was impressed by the progress and quality of work done on the sports complex by the young Ghanaian contractors.
The sports complex which is expected to be ready by June this year will have a FIFA standard-sized football pitch, tartan tracks, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as ICT centre, entrepreneurship centre, counselling centre, restaurant and offices.
“I’m highly impressed with progress of work. The quality of work is great. I didn’t know a lot goes into the pitch construction, and all that.
“There will be jobs creation for the youth in the community and surrounding areas. Few months from now, we are expecting president Akufo-Addo to commission the sport facility aimed at providing platforms for the youth in the country,” he noted.
Reiterating the promise made by the Government to provide each of the 10 regions with sporting infrastructure, Hon. Asiamah said, “was not an empty promise.”
