Kwesi Koomson, manager for multiple award-winning gospel artiste, Joe Mettle has chosen Evangelist I. K Aning’s ‘Bobolebobo’ over his own artiste’s song for Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ Gospel Song of the Year.
Giving reasons why he will at all times choose Bobolebobo over Joe Mettle’s ‘My Everything’ song, Koomson stated that all songs nominated under that category are potential winners but Bobolebobo song transcended from the mass market to the corporate market.
“Every song nominated in the gospel song category really deserves it. My gospel song of the year is KODA’s song but I think it won’t win so I will go for Bobolebobo.
“I know people will vote for Joe Mettle’s ‘My Everything’ but let’s not rule out the fact that Bobolebobo doesn’t have the fanbase to vote for him to win, people will vote for him. The category definition clearly states that the song must have generated the most excitement under the year of review and Bobolebobo really did great than the others. Bobolebobo crossed the usual traditional listeners to even the corporate society.”
Koomson told Nii Noi, host of the Christian Entertainment Review Show [CER] on GNTV he will not be surprised if Bobolebobo wins the Vodafone Most Popular Song of the year but I K Aning should not put so much hope since he can be swerved as it happened to Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ song.
“Even though I’m rooting for Joe Mettle’s ‘My Everything’ to win, I think what happened to Patapaa can also happen to him in most of the categories he has been nominated in.” Joe Mettle’s manager said on the CER Show
