Ghanaian actress and movie director, Yvonne Nelson has hinted of a possible demonstration if there is no stop to the intermittent power supply in Ghana.

Yvonne Nelson this morning, took to her twitter account to express her disappointment in the Akufo-Addo led government and threatened to embark on another demonstration if the intermittent power supply, otherwise referred to as Dumsor is not stopped.

“#DumsorMustStop!!!! We are gonna hit the streets soon if it doesn’t stop! @NAkufoAddo,” she tweeted.

Yvonne Nelson in 2015 during the former president of Ghana, John Mahama administration organized a massive demonstration to protest against Dumsor with the hashtag #DumsorMustStop. The campaign earned her many interviews both locally and on BBC which generated national discussion.

The Dumsor demonstration that ended in a Night vigil won her the name Yaa Asantewaa after the great female warrior of the Ashanti kingdom. The vigil attracted her fellow actors and actresses, musicians such as Sarkodie, Van Vicker, Prince David Osei and the everyday Ghanaian who in one way or the other was affected by the intermittent power outages.

A Ghanaian standup comedian, DKB who in about a fortnight threatened similar demonstration on Social Media in a reply to Yvonne Nelson’s tweet called the recent unstable power supply pure nonsense and will in 12 days take to the streets.

“Pure nonsense my dear. U increase cost of literally everything, no complain. Dollar rise like high tides, no complain. Small light we go take bed after high expenses too be problem. They have 12 days remaining! I start count,” he replied.

Yvonne Nelson, the Ghanaian actress, model, film producer and entrepreneur is currently promoting her movie titled ‘Sin City’ from YN Production.  The movie unravels some relationship leading to marriage challenges bordering on love, loyalty, infidelity and vows.
