A Sekondi Gender Court in the Western Region has granted bail to Lawson Lartey, the second accused who was involved in the stealing of a one-year-old boy at Takoradi Market Circle about a fortnight ago.
He’s to reappear in court on 25th April.
The court presided over by her honour, Abena Agyin Doku last week ordered the police to conduct a pregnancy test on Mawusi Rose Fiaku, the first accused who pleaded guilty of all charges but also asked for mercy because she was pregnant.
At the court, a medical report indicated that Mawusi Rose Fiaku was not pregnant and when asked why she lied, the accused stated that she had not seen her menses for the past two to three months and since she also bled profusely when she was arrested by the police, she assumed she was pregnant.
Her Honour Abena Agyin Doku asked that the first accused be sent to a psychiatric Hospital to be tested after her mother admitted in court that her daughter sometimes acts weirdly which is indicative of someone who is mentally not stable.
