The Minister of Communications and MP for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has said, as part of preventing cybercrime in the county, the general public must desist from the act of putting all personal information on social media.

According to her, the act of putting all personal information on social media is a danger to individuals as it gives fraudsters easy access to target them.

The Minister who spent some days during the Easter festivities in Kwahu was interacting with Nkawkaw based radio station Agoo FM saying “your personal information might be hanging out for the entire world to see so social media users must be careful the way they share their details out there.’’

Don’t just accept Friends request

Commenting further, she told Ebenezer Kojo Nyavor that, there must be some consideration when accepting friend’s request adding that, it is better to do some background checks.

“Don’t just accept a request for the reason that you want more friends on Facebook’’. How can you allow a stranger to get access to your information? Under normal circumstance, I’m not sure you can give a stranger all your personal information so it is dangerous and let’s be more careful. She added

Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful further urged the youth to avoid posting nude pictures on social media since one may use it against them in their future.
