Ghanaian Broadcaster, Kofi Okyere Darko [KOD] has been tapped by CharterHouse to host this year’s Ghana Music Awards.

A highly-placed contact with knowledge about discussions by the organizing firm has exclusively revealed to Kasapafmonline.com, the Starr 103.5 FM presenter is the front-runner to steer affairs on Ghana’s biggest music awards night,

The event will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Accra International Conference Center.

The awards scheme was instituted some two decades ago to recognize, celebrate the hard work and dedication of various stakeholders and players in the entertainment industry.

Darko has over two decades experience in the Ghanaian entertainment industry. He is credited with breaking the careers of many Ghanaian artistes.

He has managed the careers of the likes of Wutah, Praye, Daasebre Gyamena, Ofori Amponsah, and Tinny.

Darko has hosted and served on planning committee of shows including Ghana Music Awards, Nescafé African Revelations (in West and Central Africa), Miss Malaika, Miss Ghana and Miss Ghana UK, Kwame Nkrumah’s centenary celebrations, TV3 Mentor and Hanging Out With KOD on GHone TV.

The 2017 Exclusive Men of the Year ‘Most Fashionable Man of the Year’ winner owns celebrity fashion line Nineteen 57. 

Former Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton and Sonnie Badu are some of the brand’s clients.

He also won ‘Most Stylish Radio Personality of the Year’ at the 2015 Glitz Style Awards, and nabbed a ‘Male fashion Celebrity Icon of the Year’ at the 2016 Ghana Fashion Awards.

Darko is married to fashion designer, Ophelia Crossland.
