Ghanaian dancehall and Reggae artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. popularly known as Shatta Wale has announced his withdrawal from Charterhouse Productions’ -Ghana Music Awards scheme.

The SM Boss indicated that after sober reflections of events that marred the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards event last Saturday, he has consulted and considered to excuse himself from the awards scheme going forward.

Shatta Wale was banned in 2016 from the VGMA because he maligned the board of the awards scheme. The ban was only lifted this year.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale clashed on stage when Stonebwoy was announced the winner of Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

He posted on his Facebook Timeline, “Upon sober reflections of events in recent times and having made broader consultations, I wish to announce that I will not be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward. God bless!”
