For parents, members, children and the presbytery of PIWC Michel Camp in the Ashaiman Area, celebrating Ghana’s rich cultural heritage is not only necessary but of utmost priority in Possessing The Nations.

This is what informed the celebration of Cultural and Diversity Day in the church, where everybody was dressed in gorgeous indigenous cultural attires. Various songs were rendered in Twi, Fante, Ewe, Ga, Hausa, and other local languages.

The presentation was also held in Twi, Fante, Ewe and English language. The maiden edition of the Cultural and Diversity Sunday was primarily organised to promote the church’s annual festival of praise dubbed ‘Sing Out & Praise’.

Resident Minister of PIWC Michel Camp, Pastor David Amankwaa in his address explained the essence of the cultural day in the lives of the members.

He said “We must appreciate culture because God himself instituted it. It’s not by mistake that I was created an Ashanti in West Africa – Ghana. Scripture says that, God determines it, in other words, God want us to worship Him in our culture”

Speaking on the topic ‘Unity in Diversity’ Deacon Kwabena Boamah stressed on the need for Christians to come together irrespective of their cultural background.

“Your attitude about unity should be different because we’re all here because of Jesus and that’s why we all gathered here. He reveals Himself as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit but the three are one, it’s the same blood that has brought us together.”

Deacon Boamah further admonished Christians and patrons to let Jesus be the centerpiece of their lives.

“I’m sorry to tell you that, your dress is beautiful but on that day, the bible says that we’ll be in white robes because we have been saved by our Lord and Master Jesus. So even though you’re celebrating with us, beloved, if you’ve not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour, you may not be fortunate to represent your region” he added.

Speaking to the media after the service, Pastor David Amankwaa noted that, “there are many cultural groups here, but what brings us together is the love of Christ and PIWC is a multi-cultural kind of church and so we organise this program to throw more light on that, that no matter where you come from, you can come here and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth”

Pastor Amankwaa added that, the 2020 edition of the program will be bigger and better than this year.
Presentation after presentation, members and patrons were captivated as they were kept on their feet throughout the 3-hour program.

The ministry focuses on promoting Christ through culture but most importantly winning souls for Christ.

Some of the patrons who spoke in an interview after experiencing the power of God at the event could not hide their excitement and said they could not wait for the next edition of Cultural and Diversity Sunday.
