There was drama at the Sekondi High court on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 31st, when mother of Ruth Love Quayeson; the second Takoradi girl who was kidnapped last year, handed one of the suspects in the case, a hefty slap after the court proceedings.
The suspect, Samuel Odeotuk Wills who is standing trial for allegedly kidnapping the three Takoradi girls was slapped by the incensed mum, Comfort Arhin AKA Ante Efua, after the two accused persons’ not guilty and offering little hope about uncovering the whereabouts her daughter.
Following the disclosure from the Chief State Attorney, it became obvious to the court audience that the kidnapped girls perhaps have been victims of human sacrifice. Proceedings offered little hope, about getting to the bottom of the issue.
DEVELOPMENTS FROM THE SEKONDI HIGH COURT
Samuel Odeotuk Wills, aged 28 and John Oji, aged 29 both pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit crime, to wit; kidnapping, contrary to section 23(1) and section 89 of Act 29/60 as amended.
The Chief State Attorney, Patience Klinogo told the court presided over by Justice Hannah Taylor that on January 6th, 2019, a search for the victims (the three Takoradi girls) at Ntankoful led to the discovery of a multi-colored African fabric dress, pink headscarf, and a pair of black and red Gucci rubber slippers behind the buildings where Samuel Wills was captured after escaping from the cells of Takoradi police.
The said clothes and footwear were identified as belongings of Priscilla Koranchie prior to her kidnapping.
Ms Patience Klinogo further revealed to the court that on June 4th 2019, John Oji was also arrested by the police at his hideout at Aflao after painstaking investigations and a Facebook chat between Samuel Wills and John Oji suggested a coded language on the kidnappings and blood sacrifices as well as drugs that could be possibly administered to victims to stupor.
There was some uneasiness in the court after the revelation from the Chief State Attorney, Patience Klinogo.
Father of the last girl who was kidnapped on December 21st, 2018, Priscilla Mantsebeah Koranchie a first-year student of Sekondi College burst into tears uncontrollably.
John Oji has since been remanded into prison custody to reappear on October 16th.
