Private Legal Practitioner, Mr Bright Akwetey has dared to challenge the Attorney General (AG) soon for granting Anas Aremeyaw Anas immunity in the ongoing investigations into the Judicial corruption scandal.

“If you are a whistle blower you will not expose yourself as he did it, he is not entitled to any immunity, I will challenge the AG for that immunity granted,” he stated in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM.

The Attorney General has given ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, immunity from prosecution and any civil action for his latest investigation that has uncovered massive corruption among judges.

The grant of immunity to Anas is per Section 19 of the Whistle-blowers’ Act (Act 720).

Meanwhile, a board member of the Ghana Cinematography Board of Control, Ken Ardy is making a case for Anas to be reprimanded for flouting the law, the Cinematograph Act – 1961 (ACT 76) following  his public screening of  the exposé uncovered in the massive corruption scandal in the judiciary.

He said Anas failed to present his video to the Board for viewing and classification ahead of his premiering at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) which is a public place as explicitly stated in the Act.
