Two parents of the three missing Takoradi girls have agreed to avail themselves for DNA tests requested by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service.
Confirming this to Radio Ghana News in Sekondi, father of Priscilla Koranchie, Alexander Koranchie said the decision follows calls from concerned Ghanaians on the need to comply and collaborate with the police to unravel the mystery.
It will be recalled that on August 2, the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service carried out a swift operation to exhume some human remains from a cesspit tank at Kanwrodo in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
The exercise was carried out at the residence of the prime suspect in the case of the kidnapped girls’ case and this pointed to the fact that the remains may be those of the three girls.
The Police has however mentioned that this can only be proven after various forensics are carried out.
Initially, relatives of the girls refused to collaborate but have now decided to do in the interest of the nation.
When Mr. Alexander Koranchie father of Priscilla Koranchie, one of the missing Takoradi girls was asked whether he is ready to accept the outcome of the results especially if it shows that it’s those of the girls, Mr. Koranchie said nothing can be done if that is the outcome.
