CEO of RuffTown records Ricky Nana Agyeman popularly known by his stage name Bullet has responded to critics over “Masakra” song theft claims.
There have been several allegations that Rufftown Records manager has been stealing other peoples songs for Wendy Shay.
Afrocentric Highlife artist Kay Wusu accused Bullet of stealing his “Asore” song and naming it “Masakra” for his artiste.
According to Kay Wusu, he dropped his song in 2014 under Madhaus record label but the songs banned because it was deemed inappropriate for the consumption of patrons especially kids.
Another artiste, Odehyie has also claimed ownership of the ‘Asore’ song.
Speaking to Kasapa Fm’s Eddy Ray on Kasapa Entertainment, Odehyie disclosed that he released his ‘Me Koti Asore’ song in the year 2000 so was amazed when he heard Kay Wusu claiming he is the owner of the song.
Reacting to the claims, Bullet revealed that he was inspired by Kay Wusu’s version of ‘Asore’ so he had a conversation with him to add his own lyrics to the song.
Bullet in an interview with Eddy Ray on Kasapa Fm’s Entertainment show said he was not aware that the song belongs to Odehyie.
“The original owner of Wendy Shay’s ‘Masakra’ song can’t say the entire song is his because I added more lyrics.
“I once heard Odehyie’s ‘Masakra’ song when we were in the ghetto but Kay Wusu was fast at it by releasing his version of that same song in 2014 that is why I asked for permission from him. I took inspiration from Kay Wusu’s version and added more to it for Wendy Shay so Kay Wusu can’t claim that the entire song is his.
